So, here's a drink that plays with that harmonious combo and adds in some spice with Ancho Reyes, a liqueur made with smoky Ancho chilies warmed with notes of honey, cinnamon, and cocoa (see #BarFaithAnchoReyes for more on this liqueur!). At 40% abv, Ancho Reyes is potent, yet not too sweet, providing a very versatile role in all sorts of cocktails. . The end result is smoky, spicy, sweet, and tangy all at once. Each sip lingers with some heat, but is quickly balanced by the refreshing tropical passionfruit. I can't draw any comparisons to other well known drinks, but this was definitely savored and well loved til the last drop. ?
