Rowan’s Creek Bourbon

Rowan’s Creek Straight Kentucky Bourbon. Outside of rum, bourbon is probably my next favorite spirit. That said, there’s quite a size discrepancy between my rum and bourbon collections, but this is a great bourbon I enjoy. At a healthy 100.1 proof (50.05% ABV), this bottle packs a good punch. This is bottled by Willett Distillery aka Kentucky Bourbon Distillers in Bardstown, Kentucky, the same folks behind Noah’s Mill. If you like Noah’s Mill, this is definitely one to try! It’s similar but slightly younger, lighter, and along with that, more affordable. It’s crafted in small batches (where every batch may vary slightly from the previous due to natural fluctuations), and definitely a good option to add to your bourbon collection!

A short note on “straight bourbon”…although there are various legal requirements for a whiskey to be classified as “bourbon,” there is no minimum age requirement, and there are actually bourbons as young as a couple months on the market. However, the designation of “straight” indicates the whiskey is at least 2 years old. This bottle of straight bourbon is aged about 12 years.

Let me know which bourbon I need to add to my collection next!
