- 2oz William Barentsz gin

About
This is one of the most unique and delicious gins I’ve tried. I discovered William Barentsz gin from @thetipsymuse and instantly fell in love. There’s interesting botanicals, unique production details, and blah blah blah, but to cut to the chase, this gin is full of the fresh floral flavors of JASMINE, and it’s freakin amazing. You may be familiar with jasmine in its common usage in jasmine green tea; it’s quite a distinctive floral flavor and definitely stands out prominently in this heavenly gin.
Here we have a Spanish-style gin&tonic, which basically means to use a quality tonic water, and add some aromatic garnishes to bring out and complement the flavors of the gin. One simple rule of thumb is to mimic the botanicals in the gin for the garnishes, so that’s what I did here. The jasmine aroma stands for itself, and I surrounded it with other botanicals used in the gin: orange peel, cinnamon, coriander, almonds, and of course juniper berries.
Unfortunately this English gin isn’t available in the US (to my knowledge), but if you are fortunate enough to have access to this or are traveling, I definitely recommend seeking this out.
