Caipirinha

Recipe

  • 2oz cachaça (I used Novo Fogo Silver)
  • 2 sugar cubes
  • Half a lime, cut into 4 pieces

Muddle the sugar cubes and lime pieces gently in a glass. Don’t overpulverize or it’ll get bitter. Add the cachaça and stir to combine. Fill the glass with crushed ice and enjoy.

My 10th ever bottle talk post was on cachaça and how the Caipirinha was a cocktail I discovered (thru Brazilian friends) way before I was ‘into cocktails.’ Cachaça was described to me as a Brazilian spirit similar to rum, which didn’t really mean much to me at the time, but I loved the drink!

Every cocktail enthusiast needs to have (and know how to make) a caipirinha! So simple and delicious!
