Recipe
- 2oz white agricole rum (JM Blanc)
- .5oz Green Chartreuse
- .25oz Drambuie
Stir all ingredients with ice then strain into a coupe. Express the oils from a thick peel of lemon over top and drop in. It’s really important to have these peel oils to balance the herbal intensity of this drink.
About
Agricole rhum is not just for fruity citrus-y punches! Here’s an intriguing herbal concoction from the Smuggler’s Cove book highlighting the grassy vegetal nature of enchanting agricole rum.
I think of this as an agricole rhum martini of sorts. It has the kicking intensity of a dry martini in flavor and potency, but with enough herbal flavors and just enough sweetness to balance out the dominating nature of white agricole rum. If you’re a fan of herbal flavorful martini-type drinks, give this one a whirl!
PS: because this drink really highlights the rum, your choice of agricole rhum is critical and will define the flavor of your drink. Choose wisely.
PPS: Drambuie comes in small half bottles. If you must substitute, consider subbing in yellow chartreuse (instead of green), Strega, or another honey-forward botanical focused liqueur with a splash of Scotch. More info on Drambuie here!
