Compass Box Orangerie. Ok, if you’re a whisky fan and have never tried this before, dang you’re in for a treat. Orangerie is made by the masterful Compass Box Whisky blenders, and is essentially an infused and gently sweetened scotch.

It starts its life as a carefully blended scotch, and is then infused with fresh hand-zested orange peels (bright and floral citrus aromas along with cinnamon and clove for cozy warmness. It’s a full 40% abv and tastes just barely sweeter than an Old Fashioned. Literally something you can pour on an ice cube and drink.

This is the “bottled cocktail” for the lazy whisky drinker, it’s the “secret ingredient” to add some wham, bam for the mixologist, and the “ooh wow gotta try it, so unique!” temptation for the homebar addict. Conveniently I’m all 3.

Seriously, this stuff is fantastic, and really so versatile to enjoy on its own or in creative concoctions.
