Cynar Daiquiri

Recipe

  • 1oz Smith and Cross rum (or another funky Jamaican or heavy-bodied rum)
  • .5oz lemon juice
  • .5oz lime juice
  • .5oz Cynar
  • .25oz simple syrup (1:1 sugar/water ratio)

Shake with ice and strain into a coupe. Garnish with a citrus peel and drop it in.

OK, this one was deeeeelicious and SUCH a keeper! I was a bit apprehensive when putting it together, but it came together sooo perfectly! This is my adaptation of the Cynar Daiquiri. Cynar (chee-nar) is actually an artichoke liqueur/amaro, that somehow perfectly complements the funky Jamaican rum!

I split my citrus between both lemon and lime because I only had half a lemon on hand, but the combo actually turned out really superb! This is definitely something I’ll be adding into my rotation of libations and look forward to playing around a bit with my rum choice for some tasty variations. Falling in more love with Cynar day by day…
