Recipe
- 2oz Highland Park Magnus
- .25oz spiced pear liqueur (St. George)
- .25oz crème de cacao (Tempus Fugit)
- 2 dashes of Fee’s chocolate bitters (I usually skip past Fee’s, but the super intense chocolate aroma actually really works wonders to bring this drink together)
Stir all ingredients together with ice, and strain over a fresh ice cube. Toast a marshmallow with…a kitchen torch (I’m tellin ya, this is one of my favorite and most used kitchen tools, and under $20!), and set it over your drink so you can smell the delicious toastiness with each sip. I’m a sucker for over-burnt marshmallows. Served in this beautiful stainless steel glass by Lancaster Steel.
About
Sweet and toasty. The light smokiness of Highland Park whiskies makes it the perfect companion to snuggle up to on a cold evening. It has a really unique smoky characteristic without being Islay-smoky, and I honestly have a very fond spot for Highland Park in my spirit-loving soul. What more, the Magnus is really the perfect budget-friendly dram for some amazing cocktails.
On a chilly Netflix night (as one has), I was originally going to make a boozy hot cocoa, but opted for a slightly lighter option. Goodness, this was so enjoyable. The toasted marshmallow really pulls this altogether, and the pear is really the uplifting touch to bring that air of freshness.
