St. George Spiced Pear Liqueur – this is truly autumn in a bottle. As if my previous posts haven’t given it away, I’m a huge fan of everything they do and produce at St. George Spirits in Alameda, CA. It was the first distillery I ever visited and my first introduction to craft spirits. This pear liqueur is made from their flagship pear brandy (which takes 30 lbs of Bartlett pears for a single bottle!), with additional juice and spices added to transform it into a sweet and delicious delight at a moderate 20%ABV.
Cinnamon and cloves perfectly complement the bold rich ripe pear flavors, so delicious and fresh you can feel the autumn wind and taste the Thanksgiving pies as you take a sip. It’s very sweet but in a natural fresh fruit-forward way, and probably *too* drinkable.
Sip it straight, use it on your pancakes, concoct a yummy pear mimosa, pour it over ice cream, or add it to any cocktails to add a fresh spice kick (this pairs AMAZINGLY with whiskey)…the options are endless! If you’re in search of an amazing fruit liqueur to mix things up in your collection – DEFINITELY give this one a try if you see it on the shelf! LOVE it!
As for recipes, honestly for this one – just enjoy it on its own as an after-dinner dessert or let your mind run wild – once you taste it, you’ll understand. There’s also a bunch of great recipes on stgeorgespirits.com highlighting each of their products!
