About
Guys, this is the most fascinating “whiskey” I’ve ever tasted. It is freakin INSANE and blows my mind. Seven Stills in San Francisco distills craft beers. Yes, you read that right. Instead of distilling grains, fruits, and whatever else, they take their own craft beers, as well as work with local craft breweries, to distill and transform beer into 40%+ spirits. Beer is essentially a fermented grain, and they’ve done everything from wheat beers to fruit beers to sours to stouts to IPAs. All insane, and so special.
This here is the Tomahawp, a distilled double IPA created in collaboration with Alvarado Street Brewing that’s been further aged in barrels. It’s fruity, hoppy, and man I could smell this all day. IPAs are known for their prominent “hoppiness” (hops are the flowers of a plant used in many beers that adds bitter and oftentimes citrus-y flavors), and it shines through like no other here in this 47% abv spirit.
What better than a classic whisk(e)y highball to showcase these awesome flavors?
