Tres Agaves Blanco Tequila. My agave journey continues with this bottle of Tres Agaves, a spirit made right in Amatitán, Jalisco, the historical birthplace of Tequila.
Tres Agaves prides themselves on their heritage and is very transparent about their production process, a well appreciated move in this industry (just a reminder: be rightfully skeptical when you can’t find any details about the process, facilities, or equipment used by a company). Tres Agaves products do not contain flavor additives and are made fully from organic agaves grown without pesticides, providing us with a beautiful, quality, affordable, cocktail-perfect Tequila that emanates rich, creamy notes of roasted agave.
As a coveted spirit that is inherently expensive to produce, Tequila’s range in quality amongst brands is HUGE. Though largely a local spirit for most of its hundreds of years of history, Tequila started its boom in the late 19th century. With its popularity came changes in production traditions, and shortcuts/cheats/additives became the norm. With the burgeoning craft spirits & cocktail scene and growing consumer demand for all things quality, organic, real, and local, I’m really happy to see more great products like this back on the shelves.
Though many of us started our Tequila journeys with questionable products that tasted like pain and felt like burn, at its core real Tequila is an extraordinary spirit made from objectively one of the most complex plants in nature. Do your research (hey, check out my bottle talks ;)), and drink wisely.
¡Salud!
