About

1 of sour, 2 of sweet, 3 of strong, 4 of weak. What is that? The traditional Planter’s Punch (mine made with 3 types of rum). This drink dates all the way back to the late 1800s from Jamaica and has helped shape the basis of the now-classic tiki flavor profile. When Donn Beach, the grandfather of the tiki movement, opened up his bar in 1934 in Southern California, he brought along the Planter’s Punch from his Caribbean travel and introduced this classic drink to America. There are many variations of the punch but all follow the same general formula. Try out the Smuggler’s Cove recipe above!
