Copper & Kings American Dry Gin. This is a new-ish small-batch (very small, each batch is only 120 bottles) release from Copper & Kings.

Gin is a very interesting spirit in that it’s really just defined as a juniper-prominent spirit. Various other botanicals are carefully chosen by each distiller to build the rest of the flavor profile, but you can sort of think of gin just as a juniper-flavored spirit. Some people compare gin to a “flavored vodka,” though while vodka can be made from any substance, it must be distilled to an extremely high proof which makes it lose most of the flavor characteristics of the distillate.

Gin doesn’t necessarily have to start out as a completely flavorless spirit, and this unique creation is a fantastic example of that as it uses UNAGED APPLE BRANDY as its base instead of the neutral grain spirit that’s common for many gins. The crisp apple flavors are complemented by juniper, coriander, lavender, and citrus to round out this immensely flavorful gin. If you can find this, I’d recommend giving this one a try!
