Green Seas

Recipe

  • .75oz gold rum (El Dorado 15)
  • .75oz aged agricole rum (Clement 6 years)
  • .75oz lime juice
  • 1/2 kiwi
  • .25oz cane syrup (I used Clement cane syrup but you can sub with a 2:1 rich simple syrup)

Gently muddle the kiwi in a shaking tin, then shake all ingredients with ice. Strain over fresh crushed ice and garnish with a sprig of fresh mint.

About

Holy crap, this drink is amazingly tasty. Growing up, my mom always told me that kiwi was the “king of fruits” for its immense nutritious value.

Kiwi is definitely an underrated ingredient in cocktails that truly has transformative properties! With a surprisingly low # of ingredients, this drink somehow still truly evokes all the tropical island and tiki-esque vibes without screaming”kiwi.” It’s SO SO good.

Did you know kiwis are native to China and was originally primarily consumed for curative purposes due to its health properties? (yes, mom is always right) It gained broader prominence only in the past few decades after New Zealand began cultivation, marketing, exports, and yes even naming of the fruit to the Western world.

If you haven’t tried kiwi in cocktails yet – you’re really in for a treat! It goes so well with anything from lemons and limes to cucumber, fresh herbs, and more! To health!
