Recipe
- 1.5oz funky Jamaican rum (Smith&Cross)
- .75oz lime juice
- .5oz cherry Angostura syrup*
Shake all ingredients with ice, and strain into a glass.
*To make the syrup, combine equal parts tart cherry juice (e.g. Cheribundi) with sugar, heat until sugar is dissolved, then just add a bit of Angostura bitters and bottle. It’s basically a cherry grenadine; see more usage ideas here. With a tsp of vodka, it’ll keep for months in the fridge.
About
Well, Iām a huge fan of simple recipes. In general I try to keep all the recipes I post on the simpler/more approachable side, as for me personally that’s what appeals most whenever I’m fumbling around deciding what to imbibe. 3 ingredients, extreme satisfaction, who’s down?
This is a twist of the Queen Elizabeth, another absolutely delicious simple daiquiri variant. My only word of caution here is that this goes down extremely easy, so drinker beware. š
