Gin

Gin is an incredibly varied spirit. The primary quality that defines a gin is its inclusion of juniper berries, a pine-scented berry from one of the oldest plants in Earth’s existence. Juniper has been around since the Triassic period 250 million years ago when Pangea was still a thing. Hence, juniper can be found all over the world and has been used in medicine and spirits with written origins back to the 13th century! Needless to say, distilleries small and large all around the world are experimenting with gins – combining botanical, savory, fresh, and/or sweet flavors with the pine-y juniper berries for a bouquet full of unique flavors.
